Contactless card based on RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) technology, a radio frequency data transmission method that does not require contact between the card and the reader.

Mifare Ultralight has a 512-bit read/write EEPROM memory and is compatible with MIFARE's current infrastructures. Operating in compliance with the ISO 14443A standard, MIFARE ultralight operates up to a distance of 10 cm with anti-collision properties and without the need for a battery. It enables the development of a contactless electronic payment system for use in public transport and other applications.

Transmission is highly secure as the read/write devices need to know the access key in order to access the data contained in the card chip, and without an access key the card is inviolable.
